International Education
The Department of Education Services is committed to maintaining Australia's excellent reputation as a destination for overseas students studying at our Universities, private vocational education and training organisations, TAFE colleges, non-university higher education providers and non-government schools.
To this end the Department, through the International and Higher Education Regulation Branch, registers and monitors providers under State and Commonwealth legislation applying to providers of courses to student visa students.
The Department also has an active interest in student welfare issues and through the International Student Conciliator, provides a free conciliation and mediation service to assist in the resolution of disputes or grievances involving international students and providers.
