Timelines for the Assessment Process

As a general rule, applicants should allow a minimum of six months from submission of their application to a decision being made by the Minister for Education and Training.  An additional three to six months lead-time should be allowed for marketing of the course subsequent to official approval.

In general, an applicant should propose to offer a course for the first time approximately 12 to 18 months after submission of an application for accreditation and authorisation.

Until the Minister has formally accredited a course and authorised an institution to deliver the course, applicants must not offer, purport to offer or advertise the course.
