Vision and mission

The Department’s vision is to be recognised as Australia’s leader in the provision of services to education and training sectors.
Its mission is to proactively support the development of Western Australia’s education and training systems for the benefit of students and the State through provision of relevant regulation, funding and policy advisory services.

The Department has developed guiding principles that are specific to its work and communicate how the Department goes about achieving its goals.  These guiding principles underpin support for the wider Western Australian Government goals.  The guiding principles for the Department of Education Services are:

PROACTIVE - Champion change where it is needed and make a difference through the services, advice and assistance that the Department provides.

RESPONSIVE - Responsive and flexible to changing needs and able to take action quickly without undue formality.

ADVANCING - Continually improve services to the Western Australian education and training community and the outcomes for Government.

INVESTING - Invest in our people appropriately through a systematic approach to continual improvement and satisfaction.
